Quality Meat Packers releases new meat range in Kenya
Meat processing firm, Quality Meat Packers, has released a range of meat products to the market.
The company invested over US$5million towards the creation of the new product range that includes lamb, beef, chicken and sausage among others that are already in the market.
Kenya's Vice President, Kalonzo Musyoka, who was the Chief Guest at the event lauded the company for investing in Kenya, noting that the move will boost wealth and employment creation in the country.
The Vice President said the government has made a deliberate effort to improve and expand the sector by sending delegations to various countries in the Middle East and Africa to promote meat export.
Mr. Musyoka expressed confidence that the country can regain a GDP growth of 7% and even improve with increased investments and new products for export.
He urged Kenyans to ensure a peaceful electioneering period and political transition to guarantee investor confidence.
The Vice President urged the company to redouble their efforts in meat production so as to contribute to food security and foreign exchange earnings for the country.
Mr. Musyoka said the government has invested greatly in infrastructural development including improvement of road network to facilitate easy transportation of goods to the markets both local and regional destinations.
The Managing Director, QMP, Mr. Diamond .F. Velji, said the company is committed to ensuring international quality standards of products for both local consumption and export.
Mr. Velji stressed that QMP is in the process of exploring wider market to add on to the Middle East as well as offer additional range of products.
