Vietnam's tra fish price hikes to US$1.18 a kilogramme

VASEP Deputy President Duong Ngoc Minh said December 2 that tra fish price in farmer's pond increased to VND22,500 per kilogramme (US$1.15), some places reached at VND23,000 kilogramme (US$1.18).

The rise in fish prices is due to rare supply sources. According to Minh, tra fish price for export also rises.

If in October, companies signed contract at price of US$2.8 per kilogramme, now foreign companies pay US$3 per kilogramme, but domestic enterprises don not agree to sign contract because material price increases sharply.

Earlier, it was reported that exports of tra fish are not likely to meet this year's target of US$1.5 billion because of declining prices and orders.
