Manitoba to underscore loose swine housing

Manitoba Hog Days will focus on loose housing of swine and new phosphorus based fertilizer regulations as key topics during the 2007 edition of the event.

Manitoba Hog Days runs from December 6 to 7 at Brandon's Keystone Centre. The event is designed to showcase new products and technologies available within the hog industry.

This year's programme looks into country of origin labeling, new regulations governing fertilizer application and animal disposal and composting to group housing.

The main focus of this year revolves around two areas. One is the phosphorus regulations that have come to be part of Manitoba Agriculture and the focus on the loose housing of animals.
