Brenntag opens new feed additive plant in Poland

 

 

Brenntag, a leading international chemical distributor, has announced a new facility for its feed additives in Kedzierzyn-Kozle, a city in southern Poland on Thursday, 06 December 2007)

 

Local subsidiary Brenntag Polska is established in the feed sector regionally and serves the central and eastern European market.

 

Zenon Maslona, Managing Director at Brenntag  Polska, said the new production line is a perfect strategic fit and provides the company with an even stronger logistics position to its expanding customer base.

 

The facility strengthens Brenntag's leading market position among feed additives producers and distributors in Central and Eastern Europe while improving logistics and services to the company's customers, he added.

 

Maslona will inaugurate the new location jointly with Steve Holland, Chief Executive Brenntag Europe and Juergen Buchsteiner, Chief Financial Officer Brenntag Holding GmbH.

 

With an annual production capacity of 25,000 tonnes, the new facility complies with all standards for environment, quality and safety.

 

The basic product range covers formulations based on organic acids and salts/acidifiers as well as mould and salmonella inhibitors/antioxidants. Additives are produced both in dry and liquid form. With the blending facilities Brenntag can tailor products to the requirements of its customers.

 

Brenntag Feed Blends are divided into families according to their application area and properties. The main product families are:  

    • Neubacid®: Acid based formulations, with pH lowering, anti-microbial and anti-mould effects

    • Neubacid Soft®: Acid based formulations protected by patented Softacid technology / under the licence of Borregaard LignoTech

    • Neubasil®: Silage additives for improved fermentation

    • Neubalac®: Prevention of metabolic disorders in ruminants

    • Neubox®: Prevention of oxidation of feed and feed ingredients

    • Neubavit®: Mixtures of vitamins on carrier

In 2006 Brenntag recorded external sales of US$ 7.6 billion.

 

It currently operates in more than 300 locations with more than 10,000 people in 50 countries, with particular emphasis in Europe and the Americas.
