BIMP-Eaga to Focus on Developing Poultry Industry
The four member countries of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines-East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-Eaga) has decided to initially focus all of their efforts on the development of the poultry industry.
During the recently held 13th Senior Officials Meeting on the BIMP at Balikpapan, Indonesia, the member countries tackled some measures on how to develop the poultry industry of each member country.
According to Antonio Santos, chair of the Mindanao Business Council (MBC), their meeting was successful.
Santos added that they be drafting certain measures which they are going to follow during the process of Halal.
"We in the Philippines, our concern would be to produce poultry products as much as we can," he said.
The MBC chair said that the country's bird flu-free status is a big help in increasing the production.
"We should advantage of that," he added.
