Romania see increases in cheese imports for 2012
Romania's cheese imports reach 23,305 tonnes in the first eight months of 2012, five times more than the same period in 2011, according to the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR).
Cheese exports amounted to 4,327 tonnes in the first eight months, a rise of 2.2 times compared to the same period of 2011, when exports amounted to 1,933 tonnes.
In the first 9 months of 2012, local cheese production, including cheese obtained exclusively from milk cow, grew by 7.3% (3,511 tonnes), compared to the same period of 2011, totaling 51,322 tonnes.
