Japan seeks 206,000 tonnes of wheat in tender

 

 

Japan's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries is seeking 206,000tonnes of wheat in a tender to be concluded Thursday (Dec 7), an agriculture ministry official said.

 

The ministry is seeking 56,000 tonnes of Dark Northern Spring wheat from the US, 50,000 tonnes of standard white wheat from Australia and 49,000 tonnes and Hard Red winter wheat from the US.

 

The ministry is also seeking 19,000 tonnes of Canadian barley as part of the tender.

 

The wheat and barley shipment is expected to arrive in Japan Jan. 16-to-Feb. 15.
