South Korea calls Australian beef brand 'best'

South Korea declared Australia's Hoju Chungjung Woo beef the 'best brand' for the third consecutive year.

Australia's Hoju Chungjung Woo beef has been judged as South Korea's leading food brand for the third year in a row.

The brand was chosen over eight other leading food brands after studying their market share, brand awareness, brand potential and consumer survey data.

The 'Best Brand Awards' are split into 12 categories, with Hoju Chungjung Woo topping the list in the Food/Beverage category.

Meat and Livestock Australia's (MLA) regional manager for South Korea, Glen Feist felt the award acknowledged the growing popularity of Hoju Chungjung Woo, which translates to 'clean and safe Australian beef,' and the high level of trust and recognition that South Korean consumers have of the product.

Hoju Chungjung Woo holds a 75 percent share of total beef imports into South Korea.
