Japan approves import of Colombian chicken
Colombia's chicken meat exports will enter Japan's market as part of free trade agreements between the two countries.
Japan has approved the entry of Colombian chicken meat in the country, as announced by the president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos.
The Japanese government has assessed several aspects of poultry production in Colombia including health, hygiene, veterinary inspection and surveillance of Colombian poultry production practices.
The approval provides Colombian producers an opportunity to conduct business in the Asian market, even before the Free Trade Agreement with Japan is signed.
