Anglo Beef Processors to close Blackburn slaughterhouse
Anglo Beef Processors (ABP) will close its slaughterhouse in Blackburn on December 11 for commercial reasons.
The company recently acquired plants in Guildford, Surrey and Sturminster Newton, Dorset, increasing processing capacity and business efficiencies. As a result, ABP decided to close the Blackburn slaughterhouse.
ABP said it would continue to invest in its UK processing base to deliver a network of low cost, strategically-located efficient processing facilities.
The company has recently upgraded ABP Shrewsbury to increase capacity at the site.
