Suppliers' quotes

 

U.S. whey prices consolidated at lower levels over the week. USDA statistics show that total transacted volume of whey shrunk by 6.54% last week.

 
 

Market analysis
 

Buying interest remained weak in China as feed demand showed no signs of improvement amid diminishing livestock rearing profits.


Port transaction prices of lower grade whey were at RMB4,000-4,400/tonne. Prices of Davisco’s high protein whey softened to RMB5,600/tonne.

Whey prices are expected to remain weak in the near term amid slack demand.
