Brazil's November soy exports falls 57 percent from October
Brazil exported 846,700 tonnes of soy to world markets in November, down from over 2 million tonnes in October, according to Foreign Trade Ministry figures released on Monday (December 3, 2007).
The number is also lower than the 998,300 tonnes exported in November 2006.
Average prices paid for Brazilian soy percent2c+brazil) were US$342.90 per tonne, up from $328.00 last month.
Soymeal exports totaled 584,400 tonnes in November, down by more than half from the 1.2 million tonnes in October and lesser than the 924,100 tonnes last November.
Soymeal export prices averaged US$295.50 per tonne, up nearly 10 percent from the US$268.90 per tonne last month.
Meanwhile, soyoil exports were 137,700 tonnes in November, down nearly 30 percent from 193,700 tonnes in October and down 17 percent from the 165,100 in November 2006.
Brazilian soyoil percent2c+brazil) averaged around US$810.50 per tonne, down slightly from the US$810.60 in October.
Brazil is the world's No. 2 soy exporter behind the US.
