Argentina's October grain stocks up 23 percent on year

 

 

Stocks of major grains and oilseeds in Argentina totaled 17 million tonnes as of October 31, according to the latest provisional data from the National Office for the Control of Agricultural Trade, Oncca.

 

Stocks of corn, soy, sunseed, wheat and 59 "other crops" were up 23 percent from 13.78 million tonnes held at the same time last year.

 

The "other crops" category includes goods like peanuts and rice, etc.

 

Soy stocks totaled 10.35 million tonnes, corn stocks totaled 3.17 million tonnes and wheat stocks totaled 2.14 million tonnes.

 

Argentina's grain storage capacity in May totaled 49.9 million tonnes while utilized capacity was at 34 percent. The country has 3,033 storage plants, from small silos to large industrial storage facilities.
