Zwanenberg Food acquires Westlers Foods
Zwanenberg Food UK Ltd. has bought a majority interest in Malton Foods Ltd, which operates under the trade name Westlers Foods.
Westlers Foods, located in Amotherby, Yorkshire, has been around for over fifty years and focuses on both the foodservice and retail market. It produces hot dogs, hamburgers, ready meals and Mexican snacks for the food service market. It also produces various meat products and preserves for the retail, both own brands and private label. It has sales of approximately £25 million (US$41 million).
Zwanenberg Food Group is among the leading European producers and exporters of meat products. It has its own production locations in the Netherlands, the UK and the US. The company sells its products under various brand names and exports canned meat (mainly under the well-known international ZWAN brand) to over 100 countries worldwide. It has annual sales of approximately €350 million (US$474 million) in 2012.
