China sets 2013 grain import quota
China has established import quota for grains including wheat, corn and rice for 2013.
China could import 9.64 million tonnes of wheat in 2013. Of the wheat quota, 90% will be allocated to state-owned companies.
The country would import 7.20 million tonnes of corn next year, with 60% allocated to state-owned companies.
The rice import quota was set at 5.32 million tonnes, including 2.66 million tonnes of long-grain rice, and 2.66 million tonnes of short-grain rice. Of the rice quota, 50% will be allocated to state-owned companies.
