Australia's supermarket giant, Coles, will use distinctive labels to identify domestic pork.
Coles will display a bright pink 'Australian Pork' logo on all fresh pork packaged for sales on supermarket shelves, identifying pork that are produced by domestic pig farmers.
Consumers can expect to see the roll out of the label on all Australian fresh pork packages in the lead up to Christmas.
Australian Pork Limited (APL) lauded the move, with CEO Andrew Spencer saying that this is a step big forward for domestic pig farmers who have been urging for clearer labelling on home-produced pork products.
