Russia bans three US pork plants

 


According to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), three US pork plants have been barred from Russia's list of eligible exporters.


The three US pork plants are: Farmland Foods' Denison, Iowa, and Crete, Nebraska, pork plants and Seaboard Foods' Guymon, Oklahoma, slaughterhouse can no longer ship product to Russia effective December 7.


According to FSIS, pork originating from these establishments through December 6 must be loaded on ship by that date. Reasons for the banning were not immediately available.
