Czech Republic reports latest BSE case
The Czech Republic has confirmed a latest case of mad cow disease, or BSE, in Pribram in the Central Bohemian region. The affected cow was nearly five years of age and belonged to agricultural cooperative Krasna Hora.
This marked the 23rd BSE case in the country, and the cow also came from the same cooperative where the previous BSE case was confirmed.
In response to the latest case, another 34 cows would be culled.
Since 2001, when the Czech Republic reported its first BSE case, over 842,000 animals have already been tested for the disease there.
