Market analysis

Prices of lysine continued to surge, albeit at a much slower pace while supplies from several producers increased. However, with the availability of raw ingredients limited and the transport schedule tight, lysine products remained scarce in most parts of China.

Meanwhile, Ajinomoto lifted its prices quotes for lysine by 15% during the period in review.

In Europe, price quotes for Q4 deliveries were higher in the range of EUR1.26-1.33/kg.

Market forecast

Lysine supplies are poised to stay strong with local production limited and deliveries slow. Moreover, with renminbi depreciating, the costs of imported products will remain high while export demand stays robust. Lysine market will remain strong in the near term.
