Putian's fish produce hits 4,000 tonnes

 

 

Putian City in eastern China reports a significant growth on its aquaculture production, hitting 4,000 tonnes this year.

 

The cage culture increased by 10,000 cages, according to the Putian City government in China.

 

The City's abalone breeding volume reached 400 million eggs, with output of 200 million eggs in the abalone egg breeding areas. The sea cucumber breeding volume hit 50 million, with output of 2,500 tonnes.

 

The breeding area of asparagus and sea tangle covered 2,000 hectares and 5,000 hectares respectively in the period, with the output at 30,000 tonnes and 150,000 tonnes.

 

The clam breeding volume was 300 million units, with output of 10,000 tonnes.
