US Wants Poultry Ban To Be Lifted
The U.S. has asked the Sri Lankan government to lift a ban on exports of U.S. poultry products to the island nation.
The U.S. embassy in Sri Lanka has dismissed local industry allegations that chicken imports from the U.S. are dangerous amid a recent outbreak of avian flu in southern Texas.
The embassy added that U.S. federal regulations ensure exports of poultry products conform to stringent levels of quality and safety.
