China's sulphuric acid imports continue to rise in October

China imported a total of 99,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid in October 2013, valued at US$2.83 million, according to the data from Customs General Administration of China.

The import volume is a rise of 7.6% compared to the 91,000 tonnes in September.

As a commonly used mineral acid, sulphuric acid can be used as a food additive to adjust the pH level, which helps create a more acidic environment that discourages the growth of bacteria and spoilage microbes.
