Market analysis

Lysine prices fell an average of RMB0.50/kg from high levels, undermining market sentiment. Some traders launched presales to reduce risks.

On the demand side, most buyers merely maintained safety stock levels amid bearish outlook, with mid- and large-sized feed millers having around 2-3 weeks' supply.

In Europe, quotes for 2012 Q1 orders were flat in the range of EUR1.96-1.98/kg, while deliveries for late November and December were priced at EUR2.00-2.05/kg.

Market forecast

With demand low and increasing market competitiveness, lysine prices have scope for further decline in the short and medium term.
