Vietnam's agro-forestry, seafood exports rise to US$17 billion
Vietnamese exports of agro-forestry and seafood in the first 11 months of the year rose nearly 22.5% to US$17.23 billion on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Of the turnover, export of agricultural products contributed US$8.82 billion, seafood reached US$4.55 billion and forestry products made up US$3.23 billion.
Seafood also obtained significant results, with exports to the US rising 27%; Japan, 17%; and the Republic of Korea, 18%.
However, in the reviewed period, the agriculture sector imported materials worth US$11.58 billion, up nearly 38% over the same period last year, in order to maintain production.
