Alltech has recently completed its two-week lecture tour throughout the Asia Pacific region, after the conclusion of the company's Alltech 2010 Poultry Business Seminars.

"Consistent quality is the major contributor to business success", said Philip J. Wilkinson, OBE, guest speaker during the Alltech Seminars. Wilkinson, together with Aziz Sacranie, Technical Director of Poultry, Alltech, Asia Pacific completed the two week lecture tour throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Wilkinson shared his wide experiences in how to meet the various challenges facing the UK market for poultry meat. He highlighted the importance of Quality Assurance, traceability, welfare, and brands to retailers and food service providers.

The demands on feed suppliers to the UK broiler industry were shared with delegates demonstrating that food safety and traceability standards leave no stone unturned. Wilkinson went on to explain how the UK industry is going the extra mile in educating the consumer beyond the point of purchase, how to store, prepare and cook chicken in order to maintain the integrity and safety of the product.

Under the umbrella theme, "Retailers! Regulators! Food Safety!", the lecture tour focused on new technologies and strategies that can help to solve current issues in the poultry industry. The seminars were designed to help the Asian poultry integrators prepare for, and embrace the opportunities that western retailers will present to them in the future as they further expand into the region.

"A rigorous quality control procedure must be followed and monitored to ensure that food safety, value for money, and consistent taste and succulence expectation is adhered to and delivered every time products from our company are purchased" said Sacraine, as he explained to the audience how the issues and challenges facing the poultry industry can be addressed.

Sacranie went on to highlight the importance of Alltech's ACE principle: The promise that in doing business, Alltech has a positive impact on the animal, the consumer, and the environment, maintaining the cycle of balance.

He went on to further outline how to address consumer concerns and the Alltech Quality System (AQS). "Quality control is critical to our success," Sacraine said. "Our production and quality systems must set the standard for our industry."
