USDA extends 'back verification' for cattle
USDA extends the use of back verification programme as AMS Audit Review and Compliance (ARC) branch conducts further investigation on US meat products.
ARC identified three new or modified items that affect US meat producers, processors and exporters. Yet the branch has to continue its research for more thorough information.
A month ago, the USDA announced that back verification would not be used as a means for compliance of age verification on cattle.
Today, ARC branch announced for the implementation of back verification until further notice.
Procedures have not been changed and information can be obtained at the Question and Answer section of the ARC branch site.
The ARC branch also announced the new USDA Processed Verified Never Ever 3 Programme for producers to participate in if their animals are given no antibiotics, no growth promotants and no animal by-products.
