Norway's demand for beef imports increases

 

 

A report from Landbrugets Utredningskontor said that Norway would need around 15,000 tonnes of beef in 2009. 

 

In 2012, the import volume is expected to reach around 16,500 to 20,500.

 

Norway's beef production is estimated at 86,000 tonnes in 2009 and 90,700 tonnes in 2012.

 

However, the consumption rate is expected to increase faster from 101,300 tonnes in 2009 to 107,200 tonnes in 2012.
