US pork production figures reaches 1.9 billion pounds for October
US pork production totalled 1.92 billion pounds (870.89 million kg), a record for October. Pork output for the month was 6 percent higher than in October 2005, according to the USDA's National Agriculture Statistics Service.
Market pig kill totalled 9.64 million head ¨C 6 percent more than in October 2005. The average live weight was unchanged from the previous year, at 269 pounds (122kg).
