Serum Resistance for Testing Bird Flu Virus Successfully Produced in Vietnam

A kind of serum resistance for testing the bird flu virus and supervising the epidemic has been successfully produced in Vietnam.

The successful production of this serum resistance will help prevent the spread of the bird flu.

Vietnamese scientists also successfully produced serum resistance and antigen for testing poultry dysentery as well as established a diagnosis process for the disease in August.

The serum resistance and antigen had been used on a trial basis in the Mekong Delta and northern province of Thai Binh. Satisfactory results have been observed.

The Veterinary Department has ordered localities to reinforce surveillance of the transport of poultry and veterinary hygiene in a bid to prevent the bird flu from re-occurring.
