ILDEX Cambodia 2014 highlights potential for livestock sector

At the recently concluded ILDEX Cambodia, held on November 12 and 13 in Phnom Penh, all signs pointed to the growth potential of Cambodia's livestock industry.
With the country's population expected to grow from 16 to 17.7 million by 2020, meat consumption is expected to follow suit. Cambodia imports 800 pigs daily from Thailand and Vietnam to complement its local supply of 3000 to 3500 pigs. With help from the European Union, Cambodia hopes to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of livestock production.
The debut conference was organised by VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific, and supported by the Department of Animal Health and Production Cambodia, Royal University of Agriculture in Cambodia, the Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations, and VIV Asia.
During the two-day conference, product presentations by leading international companies such as BIOMIN, SKOV, and VET PRODUCTS GROUP were conducted.
VET PRODUCTS GROUP also held a seminar and workshop on animal feed. There were more than 300 delegates at the forum.
In addition, exhibitors are satisfied with the quality of visitors and the business matching services provided.
