Methionine price stays at record-low level in China
Prices dropped considerably during the week ended November 25.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine reduced to the range of RMB30.40-30.90/kg, while transacted prices softened to RMB29.50-30/kg.
Poor farming returns of poultry producers decimated the demand for methionine in China. Hence, buyers limited purchases of methionine while supplies were ample, exerting pressure on the markets.
Suppliers reported that more buyers made price enquires after the recent reduction. Nonetheless, cautious mood of poultry producers, in conjunction with abundant availability, will likely hold methionine market soft.
