Vietnam will provide financial compensation for poultry breeders
Vietnam's government would compensate poultry breeders an average of VND15,000 (about US$1) for each bird culled due to being with infected bird flu, or being raised in areas hit by the disease.
The country's prime minister also decided that poultry raisers who voluntarily culled their birds would be compensated VND10,000 a bird.
In addition, VND3,000 a bird would be offered to breeders for poultry culled during and after outbreaks, as expenses for epidemic prevention.
Meanwhile, centrally-run poultry farms would be granted financial assistance to buy feed for flocks of original varieties or rare poultry.
