Vietnam's Jan-Nov aquatic output rises 4.7% on-year
From January-November 2012, Vietnam's aquatic output was estimated at 5.32 million tonnes, climbing by 4.7% on-year.
Of the volume, natural aquatic output made up 2.45 million tonnes while local aquaculture farms produced the rest, up 4.4% and 4.9% on-year, respectively, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said, adding that natural aquatic output included 2.28 million tonnes caught offshore.
The country's aquatic output fell to 499,000 tonnes in November from 503,000 tonnes in October.
Seafood is one of Vietnam's major export staples. In 2012, the country's export revenues from seafood are forecast to fall to US$6.2 billion from US$6.3 billion in 2011.
