Weak demand softens China vitamin E prices

Over the past few weeks, prices continued to slide.

End users, who were concerned about the rise in H7N9 bird flu cases, were cautious in expanding inventories.

Vitamin E price quotes by major producers dropped to around RMB87/kg, while small producers priced their products lower at RMB85/kg.

With domestic buyers treading cautiously and demands from Europe slack, vitamin E prices are unlikely to firm up in the coming period.
