Estonia's October pork purchase price up 13.5% on-year
Estonia's October purchase price of pork climbed 13.5% on-year reaching EUR1.89 (US$2.45) per kilogramme.
According to figures released by Statistics Estonia, compared to September, pork was 3.6% more expensive last month.
The average purchase price of beef climbed 11.9% in annual comparison but remained unchanged against September at EUR2.16 (US$2.8) per kilogramme. The purchase price of mutton and goat meat was EUR2.45 (US$3.2) per kilogramme, unchanged from September but down 8.6% on-year.
Recognised meat processing companies slaughtered 39,600 pigs, 3,600 cattle and 700 sheep last month. The output of pork totalled 3,134 tonnes, of beef 861 tonnes and of mutton 13.6 tonnes.
