Seaprodex to build catfish processing plant

Ho Chi Minh seafood producer Saigon Seafood Export Joint Stock Co or Seaprodex Saigon said that it would invest VND121 billion (US$7.53 million) for tra and basa processing factory.

The plant -- nestled on a 3.8 hectare are and are split into two phases -- is expected to produce 80 tonnes of seafood a day in Binh Long Industrial Zone, Cahu Phu Dist, An Giang province.

The first phase will start by the first quarter of 2008 and finish in the second quarter.
