India considers subsidy for cattle feed
The government of India will submit a proposal to the State Planning Board to give subsidy for cattle feed.
In a press briefing after the regional conference of animal husbandry and dairy development ministers, C.Divakaran, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, said that the proposal would be placed before the Board at a meeting scheduled for November 29.
The minister said dairy farmers are not being given any kind of subsidy and that livestock farmers should be given more importance in the forthcoming 11th Plan.
He said that the State Government has been taking necessary measures to deal with milk shortage.
