Mexican trade delegation agrees to purchase US grain

 

 

Illinois officials are hosting a Mexican trade delegation in Springfield as part of a mission to establish a long-standing trade relationship., where the seven-member delegation from the state of Guanajuato signed a letter of intent on Tuesday (Nov 23) to purchase Illinois grain in the near future.

 

Mexico and Latin America bought US$737 million of agricultural products from Illinois in the previous year. The state last year was the seventh-largest exporter of farm products to the areas.

 

Department of Agriculture director, Tom Jennings, said the state exports 44% of its grain and the economy relies on agreements such as the one with Guanajuato.
