Bird flu concerns and weak hog market weigh on prices of vitamin A in China

BASF announced on Nov 21 that it would raise its vitamin A product prices by 8 percent. However, the negative impact of bird flu on poultry production and weak live hog prices in China have generally dampened demand for vitamin A from animal feed producers. This has resulted in a weak vitamin A market in China, and prices were stable to marginally lower lately.
