Bird flu concerns and weak hog market weigh on prices of vitamin A in China
An eFeedLink exclusive report
BASF announced on Nov 21 that it would raise its vitamin A product prices by 8 percent. However, the negative impact of bird flu on poultry production and weak live hog prices in China have generally dampened demand for vitamin A from animal feed producers. This has resulted in a weak vitamin A market in China, and prices were stable to marginally lower lately.
As of Nov 25, prices of vitamin A products in China are as follows:
Region Country Origin Offer Price (RMB/kg) Transacted Price (RMB/kg) Beijing Imported 125 124 Locally Produced 118 117 Shanghai Imported 126 125 Locally Produced 120 118 Shanxi Imported 126 125 Locally Produced 120 118 Jiangsu Imported 126 125 Locally Produced 119 117-118 Shandong Imported 126 125 Locally Produced 120 118 Sichuan Imported 126 125-126 Guangdong Imported 128 126-127
