Romania's wheat and corn exports reached 3.13 million tonnes in the first eight months of 2012, more than twice compared with the same period of 2011.

From the amount of grain exported (the EU market and third countries) in the first eight months of this year, wheat represented 1.303 million tonnes, compared with 732,171 tonnes in 2011, and corn totalled 1.831 million tonnes, compared with 768,023 tonnes in the same period of 2011.

About 348,700 tonnes of wheat and 617,717 tonnes of corn were imported in the first eight months of 2011.
