Ukraine's 2012-13 main oilseed crops' production volume will total nearly 11.4 million tonnes, including rapeseed - 1.2 million tonnes, soy - 2.3 million tonnes, sunflower seed - 7.5-7.9 million tonnes.

This was announced by Stepan Kapshuk, General Director of the Association "Ukroliyaprom", during his speech at the eleventh international conference "Fat-and-Oil Industry - 2012" on November 22 in Kiev.

He also noted that it is currently rather difficult to provide more specific index of the general production of sunflower seed, as there is a noticeable difference in the forecasts of public services (6.5-7.5 million tonnes), and independent analysts of the market (8.5-8.7 million tonnes).

While speaking about the expected production volumes of sunflower oil in Ukraine in the new season, S.Kapshuk said that the index will decrease compared to the last season record to 3.4-3.5 million tonnes. Also, it is expected to decline the exports of the product - to 3-3.1 million tonnes.

Besides, the General Director of "Ukroliyaprom" noted that in 2012-13 marketing year Ukraine is expected to increase processing volumes of soy to one million tonnes.
