Norway's dairy cows drop by almost 25%
The number of Norway's dairy cows has fallen by nearly 25% since 1999.
According to figures from the Norwegian Statistical Office (SSB), from 2009 to 2010 alone, the drop was 1,900 to 238,000.
The number of organic dairy cows totals 8,800.
Earlier in March, central beef inventories in Norway have reported a decline to an amount of 2150 tonnes of meat with fewer cows slaughtered. The amount is close to the maximum level set by authorities.
