Ukraine's winter-grain condition improves
The condition of Ukraine's winter grains has improved, according to a Ukrainian agriculture researcher.
The proportion of plants which was perceived as weak decreased to 8.5% from November 18 in contrast to 9.1% in the previous week, a researcher said. Winter grains sprouted across 7.98 million hectares (19.7 million acres) since then or more than 97% of the planted area, according to the researcher.
More than 50% of the sprouted plants were in good condition, the researcher added, without stating a prior amount.
Rapeseed sprouted on 1.03 million hectares, or more than 99% of the planted areas, the research said. Almost 51% of planted rapeseed was in good condition and about 36% was perceived as satisfactory, the researcher said, adding that weak plants made up approximately 13%.
