Russia Jul-Oct wheat exports at 6.891 million tonnes, down 11 percent on-year

 
 

Russia exported 6.891 million tonnes of wheat in July-October, the first four months of the current marketing year, which is 837,000 tonnes less than in the corresponding period in the previous marketing year, the federal customs service reported Friday (November 20).

 

Wheat exports in October totalled 2.015 million tonnes compared to 2.192 million tonnes in October 2008. The exported wheat included 339,800 tonnes of 3rd-grade wheat, 1.31 million tonnes of 4th-grade wheat, 355,200 tonnes of 5th-grade wheat and 9,400 tonnes of seed wheat.

 

In October, 24,600 tonnes of wheat was exported to India--the first wheat shipment to India since February 2008--and 38,500 tonnes were exported to Eritrea, the first wheat shipment to that country since September 2008.
