Impextraco discusses importance of clean feed in Taiwan
press release
Impextraco's distributor in Taiwan, GO FAR, recently organized a seminar in collaboration with the Taiwan Livestock Research Institute in Tainan. More than 60 delegates from the swine industry attended this event.
In the first presentation, Mathieu Cortyl from Impextraco discussed about the importance of clean feed in swine production. He discussed about the benefits of using acidifiers such as ACIDAL to control pathogens and help digestion processes. He also insisted on the importance of using ELITOX, a mycotoxin eliminator, to control the different mycotoxins present in raw materials. According to recent surveys, major mycotoxins present in Taiwan are zearalenone, deoxynivalenol, and fumonisins. These types of mycotoxins are difficult to control with classical binders, and the use of enzymes such as those present in ELITOX to transform the structure of the mycotoxins is a successful alternative.
In a second part of the meeting, Professor Chang from Veterinary Medicine Faculty of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, who is specialised in Veterinary Pathology and Diagnostic Pathology, analyzed the swine disease situation in China in the past year and explained how to perform the proper diagnosis for several swine diseases. The disease syndrome he described started in 2006 in Jiangxi Province and has since spread across the country. The disease initially started with high fevers and elevated mortality in growing and finishing pigs. The clinical signs observed include high fevers, high mortality, swollen joints and eyelids, and late-term abortions. In a very practical approach, Professor Chang explained to the audience the strategy for preventing swine diseases in Taiwan, especially the highly pathogenic PRRS.
