Cupric sulphate

Unstable global economic situation continues to suppress copper futures prices, putting a lid on cupric sulphate production costs. Meanwhile, flat hog inventories in China limited the demand for the feed additive.

Transacted prices by local producers were mainly around RMB16,200-16,300/tonne ex-factory, while deals concluded in the general market were at RMB16,600-17,000/tonne.

Cupric sulphate market is expected to be weak in the coming period.

Zinc sulphate

Zinc sulphate prices were flat amid lacklustre demand and stable raw material costs.

Transacted prices by major producers remained at RMB4,700-4,800/tonne ex-factory. In the general market, traders concluded deals in the range of RMB5,100-5,300/tonne.

With feed demand slack, sales of zinc sulphate is unlikely to improve prominently.

Manganese sulphate

Manganese ore prices stayed weak amid high port inventories. Manganese sulphate producers therefore kept prices unchanged in a bid to entice buyers.

Transacted prices of humidified manganese sulphate by major producers were between RMB3,300/tonne and RMB3,600/tonne ex-factory. General market prices were at to RMB3,700-4,000/tonne.

Manganese prices are seen stable to lower.

Ferrous sulphate

Demand for ferrous sulphate remained slow during the period in review.

Ex-factory price quotes by a major producer in Sichuan were lower at RMB300-350/tonne but prices of other producers remained in the range of RMB500-600/tonne. Meanwhile, traders concluded deals in the general market at RMB800/tonne.

With demand staying soft, ferrous sulphate prices are seen to stay around current levels.
