Beef group attacks Meat and Livestock Australia
The Australian Beef Association (ABA) attacked the meat industry's peak group saying it lacked transparency.
The ABA in a rally to be held in Roma, Wednesday, Nov 22 in southern Queensland would encourage producers to boycott Meat and Livestock Australia's annual general meeting in Adelaide.
According to association chairwoman Linda Hewitt, producers had every right to demand a breakdown of the research carried out at any particular time by the MLA as they paid a significant levy to the MLA.
The MLA, she said did not disclose information relating to start and end dates or the research companies they were dealing with.
