Thailand's Better Pharma enters industrial cleaning segment with launch of NEXGEN™
Leader in Thai animal health products, Better Pharma, recently entered the industrial hygiene solution segment with the launch of NEXGEN™ for industrial cleaning in the food and beverage processing industry.
The company aims to be the third biggest player in the industrial hygiene solution segment in Thailand within the next five years, after ECOLAB and Johnsondiversey (Sealed Air), moving up from the fifth place in the segment in the first year.
Vorachai Menark, assistant vice president of Betagro Group's Better Pharma business said NEXGEN™ for cleaning system provides pathogens control and protection in the food and beverage processing industry.
The initial launch of the NEXGEN™ range of products is comprised of six product lines: cleaning in place group, foam group, sanitiser group, multi-purpose cleaner, gel group and personal Hygiene group. They are classified as acid-based 70%, base-based 20% and sterilising 10%, which are suitable for all types of cleaning. All products are produced at the Better Pharma factory in Lopburi based on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Wimon Sripinyowanich, research and development manager said the products are developed after studying consumer need, followed by laboratory and field trials. After the trials, the products will be registered under country standard.
Somkiat Adjneeyakul, senior plant division manager, added that production is carried out at a high level of operational and environmental safety. Total quality management (TQM) is standard practice of Better Pharma, as is with Betagro Group. Betagro Quality Management (BQM) focusses on each step of the production supply chain, such as raw material selection, storage condition and production equipment and precise computerised raw material mixing.
Currently, Thailand's market for industrial cleaning products for food and beverage processing business is valued at about THB 2,000 million (US$65 million) per year, led by foreign companies, ECOLAB and Johnsondiversey (Sealed Air).
