Shanghai, China, sees 318,000 tonnes of dairy imports for 2012
The Chinese city of Shanghai receives 318,000 tonnes of dairy imports in the first ten months of 2012, an on-year rise of 43.8%.
Imports totaled US$1.19 billion, an on-year rise of 32.2%, while the average import price of dairy products slipped 8.1% on-year to US$3,725.9 per tonne.
During the first ten months of this year, Shanghai imported 126,000 tonnes of dairy products from New Zealand, 81,000 tonnes from the EU, and 60,000 tonnes from the US, on-year growths of 70.8%, 68.8%, and 10.1% respectively.
In October this year, Shanghai's dairy imports increased 42.9% on-year to 28,000 tonnes, while the average import price declined 26.4% on-year to US$3,234.5 per tonne.
