Argentina September soy exports up 223 percent on year 
 

 

Argentina shipped 1,550,631 tonnes of soy in September, up 223 percent from the 479,832 exported in September 2006, according to the latest Agriculture Secretariat data.

 

China was the leading buyer of Argentine soy in September, purchasing 1,306,712 tonnes.

 

Argentina shipped 509,737 tonnes of soyoil in September, down from 528,327 tonnes shipped the same month a year earlier.

 

China was the largest importer of Argentine soyoil in September, buying 210,776 tonnes. India followed with 35,055 tonnes, while Bangladesh bought 32,980 tonnes.

 

Argentina exported 225,7278 tonnes of soymeal and pellets in September, up from 201,8587 tonnes shipped during the same month a year earlier. European countries were the leading buyers of soymeal and pellets.

 

Argentina is the world's No. 3 soy producer and exporter behind the US and Brazil and is the leading exporter of soyoil and meal.

 

Sunseed Oil 
 

Argentina also shipped 79,453 tonnes of sunseed oil in September, up from the 78,386 tonnes shipped in September 2006.

 

The Netherlands was the primary market for Argentine sunseed oil in September, purchasing 22,168 tonnes. Spain followed with 14,700 tonnes while Turkey bought 14,000 tonnes.

 

Argentina is the world's leading exporter of sunseed oil.
